Growing up, Kouda was never a fan of the cold. It wasn’t until a trip with his co-workers that he saw how enjoyable winter sports such as skiing, and snowboarding could be. Now, at the age of 73, he navigates proudly atop a snowboard and heads to the mountains every winter to shred the toughest of trails.

Age 55, Coffee farmer
"After two long years away from my family, I finally got to see them. I also got to travel in a plane and train for the first time!"
Born and bred in Lahu village, the now 55-year-old Somchai Jayo (Jakatae) left for the city to work, putting time with his loved ones on hold. Once he had saved enough money to return home, he left his city job to reunite with his mother in Lahu. He now runs a sustainable farm and homestay alongside his family, growing coffee, bananas and more. Because home is where his heart belongs.

Age 10, Student
"My dream was to make friends in a new school. I also got to make friends in a TV spot!"
10-year-old Zuhayr was born with cerebral palsy. He spent the early years of his life in a school for children with special needs, and it was too difficult to make new friends and have fun despite his love for meeting new people. But he decided to go against the odds and joined a regular school to live life like every other kid.
